Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development is the over-arching umbrella that encompasses personal development across the curriculum. It helps create a positive and caring attitude towards everyone, giving children an understanding of their social and cultural traditions. It helps children understand democratic processes and the law in England and an appreciation and acceptance of the diversity of all cultures.
